This week we will be reviewing the main concepts we have already seen in math. Please find the main topics attached below.
- Addition and Subtraction with Mixed Number/Improper Fractions
- Addition, Subtraction and Comparison with fractions with different denominators (LCD)
- Using the Polya Chart for addition and subtraction word problems
- Creating word problems using addition and/or subtraction with fractions (proper, improper, mixed numbers and LCD)
- Fraction of the Day Format
- Correcting the mistakes in operations with fractions.

Addition and Subtraction with Mixed Numbers/Improper Fractions
In the notebook you will find the examples of the strategies we can use to add and subtract mixed numbers.
Addition: Models, Converting into Improper Fractions, Adding the Wholes then the Fractions
Subtraction: Models and Converting into Improper Fractions
For extra help see the powerpoint below, or the videos on Week 7

Fraction of the Day
We will have to complete a Fraction of the Day Format. Check the review pack above for an example format. We have to:
- Simplify (See Week 6 for videos)
- Find equivalent fractions
- Represent as part of group
- Represent as part of a whole
- Number line
- Comparison to other fractions by using LCD
- Addition and Subtraction

Identifying Mistakes In Fraction Operations
We will be looking at completed operations to identify the mistakes and write the rules of fractions. See the Review Pack above for examples, or the examples in the math notebook.
Rules of Fractions: We don't add like denominators, if your denominators are different you have to find the LCD before completing the operation, you must do the same to the denominator and numerator when finding the LCD, you must always simplify your fraction.

Writing Word Problems
We will be writing word problems with addition and/or subtraction and improper/mixed numbers.
